Ate Beulah Wednesday, April 25, 2007 |
Memories will remain as memories until finally we forget. Kaya mas mainam isulat para kung sakaling makalimutan, may makapag-papaalala.
Isunusulat ko ito ngayon kasi ayokong makalimot.
The company outing was supposed to be on the 21st but was moved to the 28th so more people from Operations can come. Incidentally, we'll be having our EC semplanning (not really, hehe, semplanging's more like it. ;P) on that same day.
Now, I don't want to miss any of the two because:
1) Given the high rate of turnover in our company, I would want to grab the chance of being with everyone (our friends that is) in Batangas while they're still in JG; and
2) After our term (05-06) we EC never had our "EC overnight" where we can do just everything we did during our sem plannings minus the planning.
Hence, my dilemma.
Farewells.. Monday, April 23, 2007 |
Last week we said goodbye to one of our katropa in our department (Batangas-based)-Sir Keats. He'll be leaving JG for another company-one that could give him satisfaction both in terms of work and compensation.
We have been told many times over about the high rate of turnover in our company. And yes, we've heard so many stories of whoevers leaving even if they haven't been regularized yet. But it still felt different that someone whom you got to spend time with is joining the flock. Sad... :(
============
Tommorow we'll be holding a farewell party for one of our churchmates-Ate Beulah. She'll be married on thursday and will be living with her husband in Tabuk since then. It makes me sad to think of her leaving, especially when I try to imagine what it feels like being in her shoes. Yes, of course, marriage is one splendid thing in anybody's life. But being away from your family (both biological and social) whom you've lived with and grown with for n years of your life... It's impossible not to be sad.
============
I know I'll still see both of them sometime else, though not regularly anymore.

The thing is, I never really liked farewells.. Goodbyes.. I just want everybody, everything around me, to stay right where they are. Ironic for someone like me who wants to explore places and make new friends in wherever place I am.
Pero basta..
I just don't want anybody leaving.
It's been a long time since my last visit to the plant, and up to now I still have no schedule as to when I will be going back. Sadness.
Good thing there's this internal e-mail where we get to 'chat' with our friends there in batangas while at work. Somehow makes me feel a little closer to the plant. Not to mention the calls I make to the lab and just a while ago, to the control room! (That's one place I truly miss!)
But still, nothing comes close to the real thing. Looks like I still have to do away with these pictures for now (until who knows when).

Good thing I visited our site. Now I know what to tell people when they ask me what I do for work. It's sort of hard to explain what we do, you know, in a brief but concise description. Thanks to whoever wrote the write-ups, it won't be so hard anymore.
After about 5 months, we were able to see each other again to hang out and, well, just have fun!
Venue: Megamall
It was really convenient for me to meet there because it is the nearest [nice enough] mall to our house. Not to mention it is the mall I frequently go to.
First thing we did was eat. Razon's halo-halo. We tried it out because we've been hearing a lot about it. Not THAT good for those wanting more 'laman' out of their halo-halo. But since I enjoy the ice more than the other ingredients, I found it good enough. At least it's not overly sweet (and it doesn't have monggo or beans, hehehe).
Then... videoke! We all agreed on doing videoke (even if JoAnne's complaining about her husky voice already, haha) for the afternoon. We sang and sang and danced and sang until it was time for us to eat dinner. Actually, even if we were able to spend around 2 hours for the singing, I still felt we lack time. Maybe because I missed hanging out with them... Awww...
And then after eating we had to go. But of course we'll be doing that again. And again. And again.
Ü
I hope we can find a regular schedule for that.
These are shots taken during our first puerto trip. I just love the contrast between the sand and the sea and the sea and the sky!
Can't wait to have our next barkada getaway! After all, the last one was way back 2004.. I hope all our preparations for this May getaway run smoothly.. And this time, I won't be volunteering to look for transpo. Hehehe.
