Can Sony Ericsson W810i play mp4 files? Thursday, May 31, 2007 |

I was wondering why videos from peewee's fone don't play in mine.. And when I checked the file types, I learned that my recorded videos are 3gp files and wee's are mp4 files. Is that why I can't play them? How come I see the thumbnails of the videos he sent me?

Can somebody help me with this? I want to know what file types my fone can play..

May bagyo ba ngayon? |

E may net dun. May internal e-mail pa. How cool can that be!

Parang napakaimposible namang all at the same time e mangyari lahat nung ganung pangyayari. The rest pa kaya.

I know how to say 'hi' in swahili! Wednesday, May 30, 2007 |

Jambo!
Hahahahahaha. Salamat sa Flicker, nawiwiden ang vocabulary ko! International pa!

------------

And I'm claiming victory in God's name. Sabi nga sa I John 5:14-15..

"And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us; And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him."

And I do believe it is God's will to have more people as His children.

In fairness, answered prayer, in a different way nga lang. May tira nga pala kong ulam na chicken. At hindi ako nastranded, buti na lang.

Natapos ko na i-edit ang blog ko!!! Wonderful skin!!! I've never been happier (blog skin lang ang usapan).

Tabuk |

They'll be leaving tonight (i think). THEY, meaning I'm not included. Argh.
They shouldn't have mentioned "white water rafting" in their to-do list. Now I'm left extremely envious.
And I can't do anything but rant.

Argh.

Extraordinary games: Killers v.1 Friday, May 25, 2007 |

Last played: ~ 2nd yr. college
Most often played during: Elementary schooldays

Mechanics:
1) You have to have at least 5 players--Killer, Policeman, Doctor, Judge, and of course, Victim.
2) The role is determined by drawing lots.
3) The Killer kills by winking at the other players.
4) The Doctor heals by winking as well.
5) All those who died must say "I'm dead" so that the Doctor will know who to heal. If after saying this nobody other than the Killer winks at you again, it means that the Doctor has been killed before you.
6) If the Killer kills the Police and the Police gets healed by the Doctor, the Police can say "I caught you!" to the Killer. This will end the game: the Killer loses and gets the punishment.
7) If the Police gets killed and no one heals him (meaning the Doctor has died before him), the Killer can kill everyone and this will end the game. The Killer wins and the Police gets the punishment.
8) If the Killer kills the judge, the game ends, the Killer wins and the Police gets the punishment.
9) The Judge decides what punishment should be imposed.

Modifications:
1) As the number of players increase, more Victims can be added, but you can also add more Policemen and Doctors. Just see to it that the Killer and Judge remain just 1 person each.
2) Victims can assume different professions (Bartender, Driver, Celebrity, etc.) to add fun to the game.

------------

I really enjoyed playing this game. I remember we used to have really funny Victim names like Macho/Agogo Dancer, Butata, etc. I even remember one of my classmates (Edward) laughing while saying "Butata!" out loud. Hahahahaha.

How I miss those times.

I have a quantum sensor in my nose. Thursday, May 24, 2007 |

Hmmm. That's a mouthful.

While trying to research on some plastics-related innovations and developments on the net, I chanced upon this interesting article discussing the nose and how it smells scents. Come to think of it, we don't really care (at least I don't) how sweet the scent of a certain sweet smell is. Or how pungent a pungent odor is.

La lang. Thoughts to ponder.
;D

Heroes Wednesday, May 23, 2007 |

I tried uploading videos to Yahoo! Videos yesterday, and after seeing just one short clip, I think our system somehow blocked all other vidoe clips from playing. So now that I found the site where I can watch episodes of Heroes in full, I still can't.

View episodes here.

Aaaaaarrrggh.

Rainy days |

Our summer getaway ended with a storm coming, surely putting a close to the extremely hot summer season.

Rainy season reminds me of many things. Before, I used to just remember my highschool days: times when we got stranded in the dorm because of class suspensions due to typhoons, playing everything in the rain (volleyball, basketball, even soccer in the "lightning prone" soccer field). But now that my college life is over, I also remember past scenes spent at UP: walking in the rain with umbrellas trying to transfer from one place [building] to another without being soaked, but never really making it without getting wet; tambayan moments waiting for the announcement from the Admin that classes are suspended; cutting classes still waiting for THE announcement. They say the older you get, the more memories you have. Indeed.

I enjoy the rainy days. I enjoy the cold feeling it brings and that you have to wear an extra something over to keep yourself warm. I enjoy hunting for new umbrellas that are functional at the same time cute and cheap (that's because my umbrellas don't seem to last that long, either they're broken or they just disappear). I enjoy the challenge of being stranded in wherever place, given that i have enough resources--MONEY, to help me survive hunger and to see me through extra transportation expenses. I enjoy reminiscing all those rainy day memories I have stored in my mind.

I enjoy the rainy days, minus all the tragic occurences that tag along with it.

Wow. That hits home.

Wanting what you have or having what you want? Tuesday, May 15, 2007 |

Will you stick to what you have now and do everything to modify the situation in such a way that in the end it would become what you always wanted? Or will you quit the present and pursue what you wish for leaving everything you've worked for just like that?

What if after you've done everything you could, the outcome is still not want you hoped it would be? What if after you've pursued you're so-called dream you realize you're still not contented, again finding yourself wishing for something better?

If you stayed, how will you know what would happen if you left? If you left, how would you know what will happen if you stayed?

My head is racing trying to search for answers..
Tell me.

Prayer for the country Friday, May 11, 2007 |

I've watched Isang Tanong last Sunday and I'm happy that I did. Kudos to GMA for having a show like that to serve as awakeners for voters who are still in the dark as to the names they'll be writing down their ballots. I for one benefited from the show--helped me add a few to my [short]list.

------------

Election day is fast approaching, and I find myself a bit excited to know what the results would be like. Compared to the previous elections, I think the voters now are, well, should I say, more intelligent. In fact, I was able to hear that same comment from Unang Hirit during one bus ride to work, and I found myself agreeing. Maybe those people who were apathetic before finally realized that if they still don't act (vote at the least), change won't happen. And we badly need it. Not tomorrow, but NOW.

------------

I've received a mail from one of my egroups that a certain Dr. Matin Bautista is running for senator. I first thought, hmmm, a newbie. And there was a link in the message to his blog, so I got curious and I visited his page. After reading a bit of his thoughts, I decided that this man is one person I would love to see in the senate. I just thought that it's either those written there were sincere thoughts of his, or he's just one great writer. I chose to believe he's for real, and for that I am campaigning for him, even if I don't know him!

There's another newbie in the senatoriables that was added to my list thanks to Isang Tanong: Zosimo Paredes. I don't know him either, but I sensed from his answer that he would be a good leader, having Christ as his "driver". Hearing his answer really gave me the goosebumps. There is hope for the Philippines.

Those two senatoriables I believe are from the Kapatiran Party, another which I'm not familiar of. All I know is that they are much apart from the traditional parties that we have. I also know they have another one running for senator, I just don't know his name.

------------

I believe it is because of continued frustration both in the government and the opposition that new people with uncorrupted principles step up. And I thank God for giving us those people who are willing to do the first move. I hate to sound like a fan of the three, or the Kapatiran Party for that matter, but I think they can start the change. I remember writing down in my previous posts that what our country needs is a serious moral overhaul. I still do. I know for sure it won't happen in a flash, but I pray that it happens now.

------------

It makes me sick to hear people giving up on our country, that there's no more hope for our situation to change and that we should just migrate and find better life elsewhere. I believe everyone can start a change, but of course it would have to be a group effort. We all can do something even if we think we can't. We can pray.

And I do hope all of us would be doing that for the coming elections, and for the rest of the times as well. May we all love our country. After all, who else would we expect to love it but us?

Snow Patrol fan Thursday, May 10, 2007 |

I'm becoming one because of just two tracks: Chasing Cars (Grey's Anatomy OST) and Signal Fire (Spiderman 3 OST). The first time I heard Chasing Cars I was like, "is that Coldplay??". REALLY nice song. Reminded me so much of The Scientist (Coldplay) and the movie it was from---Wicker Park.

They sound so not-pop-nor-rock-but-just-laid-back-alternative-kind-of-band, and I love it! (Same reason why I like Coldplay. And I saw from the net that some are actually comparing the two. Well, I like them both.)

And the lyrics, there's depth in them. But of course, as I've said, I just know 2 songs of theirs.

Here are lines I just love:

"The perfect words never crossed my mind
Cause there was nothing in there but you.."
-- Signal Fire

"..I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words,
Are said too much
They're not enough .."
-- Chasing Cars

Just plain lovely.

Lifestyle modifications (by Dr. Tan) |

To answer my unending "breathing difficulty" problem due to hyperacidity, my so-called doctor advised me the following:

1. Head of bed elevation
--Kopya.

2. Avoidance of reflux inducing foods (fatty foods, chocolate, peppermint, excessive alcohol, also colas, red wine, orang juice).
--Fatty foods? Chocolates? huhuhuhuhu. Come to think of it, pampapayat din itong suggestion na ito. Yung iba no problem (especially alcohol and red wine, di naman talaga ko umiinom ng mga ito).

3. Refraining from assuming a supine position after meals and avoidance of meals before bedtime.
--Mismo. Sige na nga, bawal na pasaway..

4. Avoidance of tight fitting garments.
Hahahahaha.

5. Promotion of salivation by either eating chewing gum or oral lozenges may be helpful in mild heartburn.
--Kopya.

6. Restriction of alcohol use and elimination of smoking.

EBC Circle at the Wedding Tuesday, May 08, 2007 |

These photos were taken after the wedding of Ate Beulah and Pastor Chris.

Hahahahaha! Look at how Pastor Chris did his jump!
